Brookes Snow Ski Trip 2017

We just got back from the best Ski trip ever at Les Acrs 1800, and I just can’t keep my emotions in! I literally was in tears on the last day – leaving the Alps broke my heart!

First of all, I would like to say a massive thank you to the Oxford Brookes Snow Sports Committee and Wastelandski reps – you guys have made the trip absolutely fantastic!

Secondly, I would like to thank my friends, who have been amazing this week and made the trip the best group trip I’ve ever been to.polina-rocks-les-arces-brookes-snow-ski-trip-2017-emoji

Thirdly, I need to thank the weatherman, who granted us some fresh pow on the day we arrived.polina-rocks-les-arces-brookes-snow-ski-trip-2017

25 presents for 25th Birthday

My birthday is coming up, and I’ve already got  an early present from Alice and Keaton – and what a present it is!

The guys got me a box with 25 items – for my age – and each item is so thoughtful! I’m going on a ski trip the day after my birthday, so this hamper is not only helpful, but will remind me of them throughout the trip (Keaton is coming with me, but Alice is far away in Edinburgh). The box came with a card explaining each item – I copied it from the card for you to read below 🙂

So what was in the box?

Bye 2016, #Bringon2017

What a year it’s been!
I have seriously mixed feelings about 2016. It’s been  tricky and challenging , with so much change and so many losses, but I would like to believe that I came out stronger.

There have been so many amazing things though! I find reflecting back very helpful to identify the new goals, sooo let’s have a look what happened in 2016.

12 steps to have a successful House Party

We have just had our House Warming Party and it was a success – everyone had fun, there was no drama, everyone behaved and nothing (apart from two wine glasses 😦 ) was broken.thumb_DSC_0243_1024

So if you are planning on hosting a party, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare your house.

Is it carpet central? Do you want to be hoovering it on a hangover and worry all night that beer and red wine being spilt spilled all over? No? Thought so.collages Continue reading “12 steps to have a successful House Party”

What’s your back garden like?

I’ve got a lovely garden. It needs a little bit of TLC, but it’s lovely.

The main bonus of that garden, though, is the magical door at the end of it. The magical door that takes you to the best back garden you could ever ask for – South Park.

It only takes a couple of steps to have a perfect view of a sunset over Oxford. I can’t even express how chuffed I am 🙂

New House

My boyfriend and I decided to break our routine – after three years of living together, just the two of us, we’ve decided to move in with a friend to a bigger, nicer house.

The location is amazing – there is a park just outside the garden, there is a gym nearby and the road with bars and takeaways is five minute walk away. Lush. 🙂
Living in a quiet family residential area on the other side of Oxford from all of our friends, proved not only boring, but also inconvenient (think of all the taxi costs!)polina.rocks Polina Skrebneva blog new house

The house is generally bigger than our old flat – bigger bedrooms (more closets!), bigger bathtub (my paradise), bigger kitchen (finally!), and most importantly, bigger lounge/diving room / social space.
I love hosting dinner parties, and now actually have the space for them!

Anyway, I am super excited, as this house feels like a new beginning, full of inspiration and positive vibes.
