Who cares about the tourist guides or Tripadvisor?
Once you’ve walked through the door of a nice establishment, you know whether you are going to love it or hate it (until you get your first drink anyway 🙂 )
Ben and I were wandering around the Trastevere area and spotted a bar – Akbar – it looked really nice from the outside, so we decided to give it a shot.

I’ve worked in the bar industry for years and it was an absolute pleasure to try cocktails which I’ve never tasted before.
The bar itself has a lot of character – weird and borderline disturbing decor, whilst having friendly and jazzy atmosphere.
One of the things that both Ben and I were fascinated by was the toilet with chalk board for the walls – a bit weird really – reading other people messages while you are having a wee 😆
All in all, if you are ever at this area, check Akbar out! X
