Love Saves The Day: 5 things I learned

My bank holiday weekend was absolutely epic – I went to Love Saves The Day festival, in Eastville Park, Bristol.

Dinner out for £10? Yes please!

I am forever on a hunt for a bargain – especially when it comes to meals out, as more often than not you end up spending your weekly supermarket budget on just one meal in a restaurant.

Living in Oxford, which is considered the most unaffordable city in the UK, it can be quite tricky to both manage your finances, whilst enjoying eating out.

Rejoice, fellow Oxfordians, especially the residents of East Oxford, as I have discovered an amazing deal for a delicious dinner in one of the best pubs within the area: The Supper Hour at The Magdalen Arms.

Consolidation time

We are the generation that saw huge development of all sorts of platforms as we were growing up: MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, blogs… You name them!

I don’t have enough fingers to count how many different social networks we got exposed to in our short life span. And naturally, most of us jumped right in to every single one of them, either to check it out, to stay relevant, or out of simple human curiosity.
Suddenly, we’ve put all of our eggs in too many baskets, we created too many accounts to be able to manage, we exist in so many different worlds, which at a glance, represent us in different light – depending on what and how often we choose to share valuable bits of our private lives.

Russia: Faggots not allowed

There is this scandalous Russian blogger – Lena Miro – who I love to read once in a while, purely because her style of writing is very different from anyone else – she is straightforward and not afraid to voice her opinion, which I love.

Some people call her a bully, but I don’t particularly care about people getting offended by what she writes – if you don’t enjoy it – don’t read it – simple as! The main reason I read her blog on a regular basis, is because she sheds some light on current affairs in Russia and she writes about things that are interesting for an average Russian.

She’s posted the below photo, that has been making circles around Reddit, and expressed her opinion, that regardless of current culture and legislation, signs like these, especially in English, are unacceptable, as they strengthen the mood of ‘unsafety’ when visiting Russia, not just for gay people, but for everyone, and tourism is important.
